Ramsey Golf and Bowls Club offers you a warm friendly welcome to its
picturesque parkland golf course, six counties standard bowls rinks, a
recently refurbished bar and dining room and two snooker rooms to enjoy at your
leisure. We are situated on the edge of the fens easily
reachable from Peterborough, Huntingdon, March or St Ives. We were formed in
1922 as a Gentlemen's Club and in 1965 a 9 hole course was
opened by Dai Rees, Peter Alliss, J Morgan and Michael Bonallack - three years
later Mr Rees returned with Gary Player, Dave Thomas and
Brian Barnes to open the full 18 holes . The course has matured, as year after
year more trees have been added and greens improved to
produce a fair test of golf. Our proud boast is that we only play on permanent
greens.
The clubhouse (an old vicarage) is situated near the historic town centre under
the shadows of the 12th century church and the
Benedictine Abbey Gate House . The atmosphere is set, all that remains is for
you to enjoy the scenery, the course and later the memory of
Ramsey.
The course measures 5998 yards with a SSS of 69 from the competition tees, 5751
yards with a SSS of 67 from the yellow tees and 5457 yards
with a SSS of 72 from the red tees.
